It all started with... coffee!: Catch up blog...

So finally, I have some spare time (though very late in the day, or early in the morning depending on how you look at it) to finally update the blog w/ pics and everything.

This has definitely been a great holiday season if not very bittersweet w/ the emptiness we felt without my grandmother being with us this year.

This is a picture of my grandma and I, last christmas... who would have known it would be her last christmas.

Every year we make our christmas village/nativity scene under the tree... It started off small and has grown over the years.. I have to say that this year it may have been the largest and more thought out of all the ones we have done. We had the city where santa was and the town where the train and cows were lol. It was great fun but very bittersweet as my grandma loved watching and when she could, helping us put it all together.

This year we decided to do the tree differently... not red or gold or anything crazy.. so we went simple and elegant with purple and silver/grey/white... I love it.. i think its different.

I decided in the hustle and bustle of christmas that I would buy an ornament that would remind us of my grandmother and keep her present for the holiday season even if she isn't here... i found a beautiful one that allowed a picture but it was a little too pricey, instead i got a cute pinkish snowman with a banner that says grandma... and that i added last to the tree in the middle..

So christmas came quickly after anthonys birthday and i wish i had some more time to do all the little creative things i wanted to do but i didn't have time. Better luck next year. So all the gifts were wrapped and well I spent most of Christmas Eve day running up and down stairs and back and forth between two kitchens helping my mom prepare dinner. It was yummy.

The present exchange was sweet and me and anth had soooo many gifts to open that we ended up opening about half on our own with my family watching it was funny.

The highlight of the gifts was a beautiful promise ring that he gave me. Its two black bands that overlap a silver band with cubic zirconias.. very me and very pretty... i think we took a pic that almost looks like we got engaged lol, it was cute. all went well..
